September 2002 News

Welcome back, Scouts!!

Recent Activities

This summer our troop had another successful trip to Mt. Katadin and Baxter State Park. The scouts and chaperones stayed in cabins and hiked the mountain.

Also, 19 scouts went to summer camp for a week at Camp Hinds. Much progress was made on achievements and merit badges.

Looking Forward to the New Scouting Year

Here's a link to some basic Troop 58 Information about meetings, dues, etc, and an Adult Roster, so you know who to contact with any questions.

Many answers are on our website (http://troop58bsa.org), so be sure to look there regularly!

Cumberland Town Forest Trail

Many thanks to all the Scouts who repaired the bridge on the walking path in the Cumberland Town Forest on September 16th, and to Mr. Busko for going back the next day to recheck the work in the daylight. Some of the Scouts also cleared brush and branches from the path beyond the bridge.

Many of you know that Troop 58 created this trail in 1994, and has been the primary contributor of improvements since. Here's a look at Troop 58 Trail Contributions.

Upcoming Meetings

We will not have a meeting on Monday, September 23rd because that's during the Cumberland Fair.

We will, of course, be meeting at Westcustago Hall on Monday, September 30th for a Merit Badge Fair. Come to meet merit badge counselors and make plans to earn your merit badges! Here's some Merit Badge Information to look over before the meeting.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
