Moosehead Area Attractions in the Greenvile - Brownville neighborhood: Gulf Hagas - The "Grand Canyon of the East" is a 3 mile long canyon with 5 waterfalls. Great hike is a 10 mile loop in the KI JO-Mary Forest. Will hike with day packs. Visit Katahdin Iron Works. Short Elephant Mountain Hike to B-52 Crash site. Overnight at Peaks-Kinney State Park, near Dover-FoxcroftWhere: see above
Tentative Agenda:
Friday: Leave Grange in the late afternoon, set up camp at Peaks-Kinney State Park.
Saturday: Hike Elephant Mtn to B-52 Crash Site, return to Campsite for evening.
Sunday, break camp early, travel to Brownville, Hike Gulf Hagas, explore Katahdin Iron Works, leave for home approx 5pm.
Cost: $20.00-30.00 depending on use fees. Included $5.00 per scout for gas. Adult cost will not include gas.
