BSA TROOP 58 Trip Notice

 What: Acadia National Park / Bicycling on the Carriage Roads

This is a Friday evening to Sunday Afternoon trip to beautiful Acadia, another trip which we've done several times before. Progress on their Bicyling Merit Badge will ba available to those interested.

When: Friday, April 28 - Sunday, April 30, 2000 (Second Weekend of vacation week)

Friday, leave town between 5 and 6 pm, after drivers get off work. Quick Supper along the way. Saturday, Biking along the famous Carriage trails - we'll cover approx. 30 miles. Other special activites will be determined - one year we performed some service hours at the Acadia Wildlife Foundation shelter on Mt. Desert.. Perhaps a shor Mountain hike on the west side of the island. Arrive home late afternoon Sunday.

Where: Blackwoods Campground, Acadia National Park. Approximately 3 hours from town.

Equipment: Tent Camping and Bicycle with appropriate clothing and gear. April can be chilly - bring hat and gloves for bike ride and suitable clothing. The troop has tents and gear, but bring your own if you have it.

We need some people with trailers to tow bicycles. Let us know if you have a trailer.

Payment: Expected cost for the entire trip is will be $10-15, including food
